PE Deep Dive
Deep Dives are used by Ofsted Inspectors to see teaching practice and impact in action.

They allow inspectors to gather the evidence necessary to form an accurate evaluation of how education flows from intention to implementation to impact within a school. Without doing this, it would be impossible to form a valid judgement of the quality of the education that a school provides.

Very often the Deep Dive will include conversation with Senior Leaders, plus subject leader, the inspector may observe some lessons and have a discussion with the class teacher, finally they will chat to the pupils.

This guidance has been pulled together, with some previous questions that have been asked during inspections, as a useful tool for a school to use in preparation for a Deep Dive.

Please note, some of the questions would be good starter for a subject review.
