Over 300 young dancers from our region took to the stage in the Get Ahead Partnership’s Primary Dance Showcase at The Baths Hall on Monday 12 March.

Organised in association with the South Bank Dance Hub, the event is in its 6th year and saw a diverse range of dance styles, colourful costumes and energised performances, seen by an audience of family and friends of all the children who took part.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to perform at a fantastic venue, in front of a large audience” said Liz Notman, Development Manager of Get Ahead Partnership and Organiser of the Showcase. “It gives them a platform in which to express themselves through dance and helps to build their confidence, whilst having fun. The tremendous effort the pupils and school staff put in makes it a fantastic event.”
Nadine Parker, Teacher at one of the participating schools Bottesford Infants said “The children look forward to this event each year and have put in many hours and lots of effort into perfecting their routine. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and had a great time performing to the families and all the other schools.” Bella, from Bottesford Infants said “It was the best day of my life!”

The Get Ahead Partnership is a school based, not for profit service with a close connection to local primary, secondary and special schools. They provide a vital service in physical activity, health and well-being to give young people every opportunity to be healthy in both mind and body.
