NORTH LINCS SCHOOL GAMES YEAR 7, 8 & 9 ORIENTEERING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Students competed as a pair in Year 7 & 8 competitions and as individuals in
the Year 9 competition. Boys and girls compete in the same championships.
There were separate championships for Year 7, 8, & 9 students, with each
year group following different courses.
For Year 7 & 8 a school team consists of 3 ‘pairs’ in the same age group.
Therefore a school team contains 6 students. The top 3 ‘pairs’ from a school
make a team. For Year 9 students competed as individuals, with three
individuals making a team. Schools could enter as many teams as they wish.
100 points were given to the first place pair / individual, 99 for second place,
etc. These points were added together for a team total, with the highest
total winning. The top 3 teams per age group qualify for the Humber School
Games Finals.
