Over 400 primary school children are set to take part in an event in aid of Sport Relief, organised by Get Ahead Partnership and held at Appleby Frodingham Sports Ground this week.

Get Ahead Partnership’s latest programme Do Yourself Proud, is hosting a one-mile colour run and sporting personal challenges in a bid to get children more active and engaged with physical activity.

“This is a great way for the children to get involved in a fun and active session and the uptake from our primary schools has been fantastic.” said Dan Moore, Physical Activity and School Sport Coordinator of Get Ahead Partnership. “The Do Yourself Proud sessions are aimed at children who are less active and perhaps low in confidence and following the success of our Get Glowing events, we thought it would be great to organise a colour run whilst also supporting Sport Relief 2018.”

The Do Yourself Proud programme is a new initiative from Get Ahead Partnership and is a great way for children who may feel self-conscious, to have a positive, alternative experience of sport enabling them to have a fun and enjoyable experience whilst representing their school.
