On Wednesday we had our first ever KS1 New Age Kurling Festival, hosted by Althorpe and Keadby Primary School. Some of the students had spent some time learning the sport beforehand with Miss Downs and others had never played before! Each school brought 3 teams with each team comprising of 3 students. These teams were split into two leagues and played a round robin competition within these leagues, with each team playing two ends against the other team. In order to score points, students had to roll their kurling stones and try to get as close to the centre of the target as possible. Once all league matches had been played, the winners of each league were confirmed and they played off in a final. The final comprised of St Norbert’s 2 versus St Norbert’s 3, with St Norbert’s 3 being declared as overall winners. Well done to everyone involved as the students’ skills improved immensely over the course of the morning!
